We, the ICM - Institut Chemnitzer Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V., are a high performing research institute in Saxony that stands for innovations and system solutions in the field of mechanical and plant engineering.

As a non-profit institute, since 1992 we have been a competent partner for small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, helping them to transform their stimulating ideas into innovations, thus enabling entrepreneurial success and growth in Saxony and Germany.

This is the motto of our team of approx. 80 employees, who are committed and creative in tackling application-oriented tasks. As an institute, we shape networks from business, research and politics, bundle their competences and strengthen mechanical and plant engineering.

From ideas and approaches to solutions, future and market-oriented technologies and products are developed within the framework of preliminary research through to their practical implementation. The targeted transfer of scientific work results to SMEs realizes and ensures their sustainable economic utilization. Furthermore, we are a competent partners for direct tasks in the field of industrial research. On this basis, new technologies and products for SMEs are developed efficiently, quickly and reliably by integrating current research results.
